ISO 14001:2004 is currently undergoing revision. There are some significant changes which imposes further requirements on certified organisations. The new standard includes increased responsibilities in terms of environmental impact, life cycle analysis and mitigation measures.

It is envisaged that the final draft will be issued in early 2014 and all organisations will need to make the transition to the new requirements by sometime in late 2015.
